The headquarters of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation hosted last Friday the celebration of its first General Assembly after the repetition of the elections for the Sports Associations. In this first meeting, the Assembly ratified the election of Ángel de la Riva as president of the federative body by the unanimous vote of all the members present.
It should be recalled that, just over a year ago, the Court of Litigation number five of Seville, gave reason to the Aloha Golf Club -member of the candidacy of Angel de la Riva- and declared the existence of fraud in the Sports Associations category in the elections held in 2012, ordering the repetition of the voting for this category.
Thus, last January -and after the elaboration of a new census- the clubs voted again, being proclaimed members of the federative General Assembly the following twenty-five entities: Andalusia Golf Seniors Association, Campano Golf Club, Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, Club de Golf Playa Serena, Real Club de Campo de Málaga, Club de Golf Aloha, Rota Club de Golf, Bellavista Club de Golf, Real Club de Golf Las Brisas, Club de Golf Marbella, Club de Golf Pozoblanco, Club de Golf La Garza, Club de Golf Sierra del Segura, Club Deportivo Tamisuel, Jerez Club de Golf, Club de Golf La Siesta, Real Club de Golf Vista Hermosa, Real Club Pineda de Sevilla, Club de Golf Corta Atalaya, Real Club de Golf El Candado, Club de Golf La Cañada, San Pedro Club de Golf, Guadalhorce Club de Golf, Club de Golf Torrequebrada and Golf International Nerja Society.
The vast majority of these clubs, now elected, had been left out of the General Assembly following irregularities committed during the first balloting.
The current Board of Directors of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation – headed by its President, Ángel de la Riva – is very satisfied with the support given to the President today by its General Assembly and, above all, celebrates the fact that Justice has allowed the repetition of this electoral process, guaranteeing, now, absolute legality.
The General Assembly of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation is made up of a total of 60 members, divided into four categories. Thus, in addition to the 25 clubs that make up the Sports Associations category, there are 23 representatives for the athletes category, 6 referees and 6 technical-coaches.
