Tiger Woods scores his 75th career PGA Tour victory

Tiger Woods, world number two, has just won the 75th title of his career, winning the US PGA Farmers Insurance Open by four strokes, despite the strong wind that prevailed in the last 11 holes. Woods won at Torrey Pines for the eighth time in his career, including his seventh PGA title and the 2008 U.S. Open, the most recent of his 14 major titles.

The American chases the record of 18 Grand Slams won by his compatriot Jack Nicklaus.

A fog delay on Saturday and lack of lighting at the end of Sunday forced the tournament to be extended to Monday.

Woods carded a course-par 72 on the final day to total 274 strokes, 14 under par.

Woods was escorted by compatriots Brandt Snedeker and Josh Teater, who each finished with a total of 278 strokes.

Woods had two bogeys and a double bogey between the 14th and 17th holes, but made par on the par-5 18th and final hole to seal the victory.

“It looked a little ugly at the end,” Woods said. “I started to lose my patience with slow play and lost my concentration a little bit, but I was able to get my par there on 18 and got the win,” he added.
