Poulter buys fifth Ferrari for 1.3 million euros

Although he has not won a tournament on the American and European circuits for three years, Ian Poulter continues to enjoy life to the fullest. The 39-year-old English player, with a record of twelve victories on the European Tour, has pocketed 1.7 million euros so far this season thanks to his good results.

Perhaps to console himself for his lack of victories, Poulter has decided to increase his collection of Ferraris and has bought another car of the famous Italian brand, so he now has five, all of them in the characteristic red color of the supercar firm.

His latest acquisition is a LaFerrari, which joins his particular team made up of the following models 288 GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo. The English golfer has not been able to resist the temptation to show the world his supercars and has spread a photo on twitter showing his five Ferraris ‘posing’ in front of the facade of his fabulous mansion in Florida.

Poulter has qualified in 59th place to play in the millionaire playoffs of the FedExCup of the American Tour, which began this week. In the PGA Tour he has four top 10s in the 16 tournaments he has played, and is 34th in the world ranking.

The Briton believes he can still pull off a win this season: “I can still win the FedEx Cup and the Race to Dubai,” he tweeted.

The Ferrari LaFerrari is a curious case of the brand, as second-hand examples are being sold for more than double what they cost when they left the factory. In Spain the new ones went on sale for 1.3 million euros and, because it was a limited production of 499 units, they were only awarded through an invitation system to the best customers of the Italian brand. Just a few months after their release, some second-hand LaFerrari are already being sold for 3.2 million euros.
