The duel between the United States and the team from the rest of the world without Europe already has a winner. The world superpower, also in golf, won the biennial tournament in Australia, and did so thanks in large part to the final performance of Tiger Woods, who finally roared with the strength that made him famous until a couple of years ago. The Americans won by an overall score of 19-15. At the Royal Melbourne Golf Club, the 35-year-old Californian clinched the deciding point against Australian Aaron Baddeley. Two years ago, the former world number one, now down to 50th in the ranking, also won the last of his more than 80 titles in Australia. The twelve best golfers from the United States beat the team captained by Australian Greg Norman, which brings together players from all over the world except Europe. The traditional competition has been held every two years since 1994, in the style of the Ryder Cup, in honor of former U.S. President Gerald Ford. Since then, the international team could only win once, in 1998, also in Melbourne, by 20.5-11.5.
